What is a PSR

A Pre-Start Health and Safety Review (PSR) is a written technical engineering assessment made by a professional engineer or an engineering firm of any pallet racking, indicating measures required to ensure compliance with Regulation 851, section 7 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

When is it required?

A PSR should be performed prior to placing using racking.

Why is it required?

A PSR is required to identify and eliminate workplace hazards through proper safeguarding of the racking..

 

Stage One

Preliminary visit to determine the scope of the work and review as follows:

  • Determine whether or not the racking is installed according to current applicable standards.

Stage Two
  • Taking pictures of racking

  • Damage assessment of racking

Stage Three

Off-site review of all Stage #3 activities as follows:

  • Identifying all deficiencies, if there is any.

  • Recommendations to rectify all deficiencies, if there is any.

Stage Four

Presentation of PSR report

  • Issuing a final Pre-Start Health & Safety Review.

  • Discuss all deficiencies and remedies.

  • Advise actions to be taken to comply with the regulations and acts.

  • Provide estimate of costs of repairs and or replacement required to pass PSR.

  • Provide drawing or sketch of layout and beam elevations.

  • Provide load beam and upright capacities.

  • Provide a PSR report stamped by a professional engineer.

How Long is the Process?

The above-mentioned 4-stages process will typically take 1 week to 2 weeks.
